This week I am responding to another article from our friend Joe Klein. This brief article left me quite pessimistic about the state of America’s government and economy. It is no wonder that the economic state of this country is suffering, people are just walking away from their mortgages. I am not the best when it comes to understanding banking and mortgages, but I do know that the increasing number of foreclosures will only do the economy further harm.
I always find it interesting how people react to the country’s current president. A candidate spends months making arguments and promises to persuade enough of the country to vote on their behalf. That candidate wins the election and, after a short time, those once satisfied voters turn on them. I personally do not vote, nor do I plan to in the future, so as a politically neutral observer I am amused at this country’s reaction to President Obama. The article brings out that those who were once celebrating on national television after Obama’s election are now frustrated with the President and his decisions. As a young woman on my way into the real world, I worry about what this country will turn into. Will there even be jobs by the time my classmates and I graduate? I must say that things are not looking too good.
